As the number of Muslim travelers in Japan is growing and in order to attract more Muslim travelers to enjoy Japan at ease, Japan has recently made more efforts to implement the concept of being Muslim friendly. Here are the latest facilities that have been updated to meet the needs of Muslims.

 

• Vegetarian Menu at Hotel Granvia Hiroshima
• Muslim Friendly at Kamogawa Sea World
• Halal/ Vegan Bento at The Sumo Hall Hirakuza Osaka

Since January 2024, Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, a hotel under JR West Group Hotel, located in Hiroshima Prefecture, in Chugoku Region, has introduced their all-new vegetarian menu in five of their hotel restaurants.

 

You can choose from a variety of vegetarian menus created by the head chefs of all five restaurants:-

1. Japanese cuisine at Japanese Restaurant Setouchi. (For example: Beans tofu steak, seasonal vegetable sushi, vegetable shabu-shabu and tempura, mixed fruits)

2. Vegetarian teppanyaki menu at Steak House Jinseki (For example: potato gnocchi herb style, salad, radish steak and vegetable soup)

3. Chinese cuisine at Chinese Restaurant Koh-Ran-En (For example: Mushrooms, black sticky rice and tofu)

4. Western food at Cafe & Buffet Dish Parade (For example: Hamburg is made by Soybeans, corn soup, mixed salad/ fruits)

5. French cuisine at Sky Restaurant and Lounge (For example: Vegetable tabbouleh poached egg salad, seaweed risotto, mushroom pie wrap and spaghetti soybean Bolognese sauce)

Kamogawa Sea World is a large scale of marine leisure center in Chiba Prefecture, the home of Narita Airport. It is not only an aquarium, but also promotes marine educational research and preservation activities.

 

Kamogawa Sea World has also their initiatives to welcome more oversea customers including Muslims:-

1) Prepared a prayer room including the ablution space and the sign indicating the direction for prayer. The room is located near the main gate. Refer to Facility Service map

2) Vegetarian menu

For travelers who are visiting Kansai area after the end of May 2024, you can include THE SUMO HALL HIRAKUZA OSAKA in your itinerary.

 

The Sumo Hall Hirakuza Osaka, an entertainment hall of Sumo show, is scheduled to open on 30th May 2024 at 8th floor of Namba Parks, Osaka. The ticket is on sale since 1st March 2024 via online. Each ticket is including a seat with one Japanese traditional bento and one drink. For the bento, they also provide Halal or vegan bento as option upon request with additional charges. You can enjoy your bento and drink while watching the sumo show.
