JNTO would like to present you some of the MICE information update in Japan during Dec 2020 - Jan 2021. Today, we will be covering some topics on special MICE destination report by Headquarters Magazine, latest Tokyo Michelin Guide 2021, new hotels opening information as well as the result announcement of the Japan Incentive Travel Award 2020.

Special MICE Destination Report
Few destinations worldwide are as alluring and attractive as Japan. With its unique combination of tradition and modernity, beautiful landscapes and ultramodern experiences, the country is a must-visit for many travellers.
 
In the latest Headquarters Magazine’s special MICE destination report, we will introduce to you on how Japan has prepared to better serve the needs of the business events industry amidst the “new normal.”

3 New Hotels Opening in Japan in March 2021
 
Three spectacular hotels opening in Japan in spring 2021.

No matter your client's needs, interests or budget, Japan has accommodation options to make their trip extra comfortable and memorable. Here are three new Japan-exclusive properties opening in March:

Marriot Japan will open its first W Hotel in Japan. W Osaka's façade is designed by famed Japanese architect Tadao Ando, with extravagant interiors inspired by the city's colorful neon lights.

Azumi, a new brand by Adrian Zecha and Japanese group Naru Developments Co., Ltd, aims to deliver a fresh take on the Japanese ryokan inn, combining the hospitality of a traditional stay with elements of the global hotel experience. Created in collaboration with Japanese architects, artists, craftspeople and gardeners, the first property is on an island in the Seto Inland Sea.

Known for fine French cafes, Fauchon will open the world's second Fauchon hotel in Japan, after Fauchon Paris. Fauchon L'Hotel Kyoto will showcase French gastronomy with Japanese twists. It will also be home to Fauchon Hospitality's first spa, Le Spa Fauchon.

JAPAN Best Incentive Travel Awards 2020 Results Announcement
 
Thank you for the travel agencies that have been actively participated in the JAPAN Best Incentive Travel Awards 2020.
 
"JAPAN Best Incentive Travel Awards" was first introduced by The Japan Convention Bureau, a division within the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) 5 years ago. The award aims to recognize best practice in incentive travel to Japan and 2020 was the fifth year of this annual award.
 
The contest accepted applications from July 15 to September 16, 2020. There was a total of 83 applications from 16 countries and regions, among which three winners have been selected - teamtravel international GmbH (Germany), H.I.S International Travel Pte Ltd(Singapore) and JTB Germany GmbH (Germany) for their outstanding and remarkable itineraries. 
 
We hope that the winning itineraries would be able to offer some useful insights for our valued MICE partners in desgining a unique yet memorable MICE itinerary in your future trips. To read more, click here.
