Japan Safety and Security Update

 

Dear valued partners,

 

In light of the current pandemic situation occuring worldwide, many sightseeing spots, accommodation facilities, and restaurants in various cities in Japan are taking measures against the COVID-19 infection in accordance with the guidelines for each industry set by the Japanese government. Likewise, each municipality office in local Japanese cities are delivering extra precautionary steps in ensuring the safety and security of its visitors, both domestically and internationally. 

 

Let's have a look at what the city of Hakodate (Hokkaido), Chiba (Chiba), Takayama (Gifu) and Miyoshi (Tokushima) have to offer in term of delivering a sense of safety and security to their patrons.  

[HOKKAIDO PREFECTURE] Hakodate City
Hakodate city has always been a top-picked tourist destination in Hokkaido, regardless of the season. Hence, the safety and security measures being implemented in the city are one of the main concerns by many visitors. Here are specific measures taken at major sightseeing spots and accommodation facilities in Hakodate city. In addition, Hakodate city is requesting the cooperation of both citizen and visitors to take measures to prevent the infection of the COVID-19.
 
Some of the measures taken in the city is the enforcement of the “cough etiquette” at Hakodate city...
Q: What is actually "cough etiquette"?
A: The way you cover your mouth and nose with a mask, tissue, handkerchief, or the edge of a sleeve to avoid spreading germs to other people when you cough or sneeze.

[CHIBA PREFECTURE] Chiba City
Chiba city, the gateway city to enter Tokyo or Kanto region via Narita airport, is another city many travellers visit/ transit when they enter/ leave Japan. Understand more about their efforts in combating COVID-19 via their newly launched promotional video "Welcome Back to a New Chiba: The New Normal Around Narita Airport".

[GIFU PREFECTURE] Takayama City
Surrounded by the mountains of Gifu Prefecture, positioned in the center of Japan, Hida Takayama is known as “Little Kyoto”. It is a friendly city with beautiful seasonal sceneries and has a long and rich history.
Old Town, once developed as a merchant town built around the former castle town of the Edo period, is still prosperous today.
In spring and autumn, the city hosts the famous “Takayama Festival”, one of the three most beautiful festivals in Japan. Gorgeous parade floats pass by spectators, reminding them of classic landscapes of the past.
Hida Takayama is listed as a three star must–visit tourist site in “Michelin`s Voyager Pratique Japon” and “Michelin Guide Vert Japon”.

Have you heard of “Iya Valley“ in Tokushima prefecture as a travel destination to Japan?
