COVID-19: New Normal Travel In Japan

JNTO is pleased to inform you that we have newly launched a new webpage on "New Normal" travel in Japan! 

 

"Our borders are currently closed to visitors, but we will be ready to welcome you back when the time is right. From Japan's hotels, restaurants, businesses and tourist attractions to its citizens and residents, everybody is working together to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Mask wearing, physical distancing, temperature checks, and thorough disinfecting and cleaning are standard throughout the country. Your safety is our priority. We are taking the time to do things right, so that we can safely welcome you back."

Other than COVID-19 precaution measures taken by municipality offices or hotels in Japan, travel related service providers have also established their own measurements in tackling the spread of the virus.
 
Read on to hear more about the efforts and practices done by Japan Land Service Co Ltd, ANA and TOYOTA Rent a Car.
Japan Land Service
Japan Land Service has developed a network that connects travel agencies and individual customers (overseas & domestic) with each service provider, and offers a wide variety of services that will help increase sales and improve business efficiency.

ANA Care Promise ~
A New Standard for Air Travel
"As new lifestyle standards are affecting various of daily life, ANA is committed to ensuring the comfort and safety of all its valued passengers and our
employees by providing customers with clean and hygienic environments in airports, lounges and on board aircrafts.
To reassure a comfortable and safe environment for our passengers on board, we manually and thoroughly disinfect areas where passengers frequently touch in the cabin, such as tables, armrests, seat TVs, controllers and lavatory door knobs. Disinfecting for international flights will take place after every flight. For Japan domestic flights, the cabin will be disinfected every night, and lavatories will be manually sanitized after each flight.
  • All aircrafts operated by ANA are ventilated with clean air.
    Clean air through adequate ventilation
    The aircraft absorbs a large amount of clean air from the sky, which allows for the cabin's entire air to be replaced in approximately three minutes.
  • All ANA Group Aircraft are equipped with high performance filters
    The cabin air is filtered and circulated through high performance filters which are
    also used in hospital operating rooms, ensuring high quality clean air.
  • Constant air circulation
    The cabin air is constantly flowing, from the ceiling to the floor. The ai r in the
    cabin does not stay stagnant. The above air circulation systems are being
    operated when on the ground as well.

TOYOTA Rent a Car Actions for the Prevention of Infection
"We are working on hygiene management of employees, vehicles and shops in order for our valued customers to be able to use our rental car with peace of mind.
We will also continue to make further improvements.
In addition to the normal safety and cleanliness measures, the following measures are taken to prevent new coronavirus infection.
・In addition to the regular cleaning, the door handle, steering wheel, shift lever, car navigation system, seat belt, seat, etc. that are frequently touched are carefully wiped off to remove bacteria
・Vehicle disinfection apart from wiping, such as disinfection spray
・Cleaning completion notice tool in the vehicle to visualize the completion of cleaning and sterilization
・Clean frequently used counters and shared ballpoint pens with disinfectant
・Placing alcohol solution for hand disinfection at the entrance and inside the shop
・Frequent ventilation in the shop (about twice every hour)
・Open the window of the shuttle bus and ventilate inside the car by taking outside air from the air conditioner
・Measures to prevent droplet transmission with a vinyl sheet or acrylic board
・Use a coin tray for receiving and giving licenses, credit cards, cash, etc.
・Employees wearing masks and frequently washing hands
etc."
