Dear JNTO fans,

Summer in Japan is getting hotter and hotter these days.

For Malaysian, before the COVID-19 pandemic, we used to go hiking, cycling or doing water activities during holidays for relaxation and a short relief from the hot weather.

For Japanese people, they also have various activities to help them forget about the hot weather in summer.

Among them, there are some exciting activities in Kansai area that we would like to introduce to you today! Let's check them out!

Log Rafting (Wakayama prefecture)
Enough with normal water activities? This is for all thrill seekers!
One and only traditional log rafting experience is in Wakayama prefecture!

Before roads were built, in order to transfer logs to another place, people used to float down logs through river by connecting them into rafts.

These rafts are now used to send thrill seekers down the Kitayama River and allow visitors to experience the swift currents along the river.

The skills and techniques of log rafting have been well preserved in Kitayama town for over 600 years.

So, if you are looking for a unique and exciting summer activity, check out log rafting at Kitayama Town!
