The World Economic Forum that was held on 22nd-26th May 2022 at Davos, Switzerland brought together a total of 2,000 leaders and experts from all around the world.
 
Some of you might not yet know that Japan had ranked 1st place for Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2021, as announced on the 3rd day of the forum. 
 
Japan was awarded high points in particular for its Infrastructure & Travel and Tourism Demand Drivers.

    What is World Airport Awards?
     
    The World Airport Awards is an international airport evaluation as presented by Skytrax, a UK based aviation research company, and is a global benchmark for airport services and facilities. 
     
    Did you know that among the World's Top 10 Airports 2022 announced back in June, 3 of them are in Japan?
    The 3 reputable title holders are Haneda Airport (2nd place), Narita Airport (4th place) and Kansai Airport (10th place) respectively, some of Japan's most visited major gateways.
     
    Keep this in mind and take your time to explore exactly what makes them the best on your next Japan trip in the near future.
    #2 Haneda Airport (HND)

    Being the closest and most accessible to Tokyo city, Haneda Airport is one of the most popular airports in Japan among international travellers.
     
    Haneda Airport has had a grip on 2nd place for World's Best Airports for 4 consecutive years now, and also the title of Best Airports in Asia for 2 consecutive years!
     
    It was also voted as the World's Cleanest Airport 2022, holding strong onto the title for its 7th year.

    Malaysian travellers looking to enter Japan should be no stranger to Narita Airport.
     
    It also serves as the international hub for Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), 2 major airlines that currently operate direct flights from Malaysia to Japan.
    If you are taking the domestic flights operated by JAL or ANA, Narita Airport is also a convenient transit point for both international and domestic flights.

    (World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery 2022)
    Kansai Airport, a perfect gateway for Malaysian travellers to explore western Japan, took the title of World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery in particular as part of the World Airport Awards 2022.
     
    Kansai Airport has announced that their new domestic area in Terminal 1 will be opened in the Autumn 2022. This new area will allow travellers to transfer from international to domestic flight more easily within the same building.
     
    So, for you Malaysians planning to transit to Hokkaido, Kyushu and Okinawa,
    Kansai Airport might just be your next stop!

    A common struggle for the majority Muslim population in Malaysia at their travel destinations can be said to be in getting information for Muslim-friendly facilities, especially concerning foods. 
     
    There has also been an increase in the number of vegetarians in light of recent trends on health consciousness. 
     
    In consideration for these special dietary requirements, Taito area in Tokyo has just published a NEW Dietary Diversity Map for 2022.
     
    You can find in the map here restaurants that provide special dietary services like the ones mentioned above, as well as praying spaces, and of course: nearby famous tourists spots that you can visit in between!
